This statement describes which personal data Clean Amsterdam processes and your rights under the GDPR. For cookies, see the separate cookie statement.

2. What data we process

When you contact us or book a job:

  • Phone number
  • Name (if you share it)
  • Address where the work takes place
  • Content of WhatsApp messages or phone calls
  • Date and time of appointments
  • For invoicing: email address and any business details

When you visit this website — only if you give consent via the cookie banner:

  • Masked IP address, page visits, click behavior, time on page (via Google Analytics)
  • Device and browser details
  • A unique advertising identifier for retargeting (via Meta Pixel and Google Ads)

3. Why we process it

  • To answer your question and schedule an appointment
  • To carry out the cleaning job
  • To prepare and send an invoice
  • To meet administrative obligations (Dutch tax authority)
  • To understand how the website is used and improve it
  • To show ads to people interested in cleaning in Amsterdam, and to people who visited the site previously

4. Legal basis

  • Performance of contract (GDPR art. 6(1)(b)) — for your booking and scheduling.
  • Legal obligation (art. 6(1)(c)) — for tax administration.
  • Consent (art. 6(1)(a)) — for analytics cookies, marketing cookies, and ad tracking. You give it via the cookie banner and can withdraw it at any time.

5. Retention periods

  • Contact and scheduling data: as long as the client relationship lasts, then a maximum of two more years.
  • Invoices and bookkeeping: seven years (Dutch fiscal retention).
  • WhatsApp messages: as long as they remain visible in the app, unless you request deletion.
  • Google Analytics data: 14 months.
  • Meta Pixel / Google Ads remarketing IDs: 90 days to 13 months, depending on the platform.

6. Who we share data with

  • Dutch tax authority — only as legally required.
  • WhatsApp / Meta — if you contact us via WhatsApp, Meta processes those messages according to their own privacy policy.
  • Google (Analytics + Ads) — analytics data and ad events. We have a data processing agreement with Google. See Google's privacy policy.
  • Meta (Pixel + Ads) — ad events for retargeting on Facebook and Instagram. See Meta's privacy policy.
  • Amazon Web Services — hosts this website. No visitor personal data passes through hosting that doesn't also pass through Google/Meta.
  • We do not share your data with anyone else.

8. Transfers outside the EU

Google and Meta partly process data in the United States. Both companies are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, providing an appropriate level of protection under the GDPR.

9. Security

We store data on devices with disk encryption, password protection, and up-to-date software. We do not share your data over insecure channels.

10. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you
  • Have inaccurate data corrected
  • Request erasure ("the right to be forgotten")
  • Restrict processing
  • Object to processing
  • Request a copy of your data (portability)
  • Withdraw consent for cookies via the cookie settings

Send a request via WhatsApp or phone. We respond within 30 days.

11. Complaints

If you disagree with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority.

12. Changes

We may update this statement. The version with the date at the top is always the one in force.
